Features of Consulting
Consultants are often brought in to provide specific ‘solutions’ to business problems and needs. This means the Consultant actually doing the job for the client, rather than transferring skills to the client so that they can do the job themselves. This, therefore, means that solutions can be implemented quicker, but that next time a similar solution is needed, the client company will not have gained any skills in this area and thus a Consultant may be required again.
Features of Consulting
The work of Consultants is often focused on developing organisational practices, processes and structure. The role is generally more strategic and often used to instigate and design broad-ranging change programmes. Consultancy frequently involves expert advice about specific issues and organisational processes.
