Introduction
Coaching involves developing a client’s skills, knowledge and understanding so that they can decide themselves how to improve performance, what action to take and what decisions need to be made, enabling them to achieve their Company’s goals and objectives.
Coaching can help clients to focus upon challenges and issues, determine performance targets and objectives and how to achieve planned performance improvements. Coaching usually lasts for a defined period and focuses on specific issues, challenges, goals and skills.
In the context of High Growth Coaching, the focus of the High Growth Coach as a Coach is to impact upon the performance of the business. However, it is often the case that coaching has an impact on the development and performance of the client as an individual as well.
Coaching is “a process that enables learning and development to occur and thus performance to improve. To be a successful a Coach requires a knowledge and understanding of process as well as the variety of styles, skills and techniques that are appropriate to the context in which the coaching takes place” Eric Parsloe (1998)
