Introduction
A Mentor is often considered to be someone who helps another person to develop or to cope with change or any new experience or benefit from the advice and support of someone who has experienced similar experiences and changes being faced by the individual.; hence the concept of ‘been there, done that and got the T-shirt’.
Some clients prefer to work with High Growth Enterprise Coaches who have a proven track record of building and managing High Growth Companies. The argument is that unless the coach has experience of the challenges of running a High Growth Company how can they possibly understand the pressures and demands involved.
This does not mean, however, that a High Growth Coach who has not run a High Growth Company, will never be able to work in the capacity of a Mentor as their clients may still experience some situations, which the coach themselves has experienced, and thus be able to take on the role of Mentor for.
