Planning for CPD
Continuous Professional Development is not just about attending courses and seminars or reading the occasional article in a journal. Effective CPD requires a more systematic and planned approach to ensure the currency of the requisite knowledge, skills and competencies required in your role as a coach. Reviewing Your CPD
The essence of CPD is to identify what development is required and the benefits that will be derived from it. Reflecting on the past and planning for the future in this way makes professional development more methodical and easier to evaluate the benefits of. There are no rules about what constitutes CPD and what you need to do. The key to effective CPD is self-reflection and identifying future priorities. The following questions provide a good starting point for reviewing past professional development activities and identifying new development needs.
