- Agree SMART action plans (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Resourced and Time bound)
- Confirm client commitment to action plans
- Agree how and when to review action plans
Performance and results require action. As a general rule, never end a goal setting session without agreeing at least one action with clients so that it can begin to make the goal a reality. In many ways, the process of action planning is more important than the action plan itself. Action planning is a key part of the visualisation process as it is where clients explore how to convert their vision into reality. Effective action planning engages clients in designing their future and building a solution to which they are committed.
