Coaching Records
Coaching records are important for several reasons. They provide a record of what was discussed and agreed; they document the coaching process in action; and they provide a permanent record action plans, outcomes and coaching inputs (e.g. time, dates and resources).
Coaching records can be used by coaches to reflect upon their performance and effectiveness and should the need arise to demonstrate what they did, said and achieved. They can be used as evidence to support invoices and if required to protect and defend their good name in the event of a client or customer suing them!
Coaching Planning System
Systems that coaches use to plan and record coaching will vary according to the requirements of the client and in some cases, in the coaching is being funded by an outside agency, the requirements of the funder. However, most coaches will benefit from having a simple system which allows them to easily plan, record and retrieve information regarding client coaching.
Action Plans and Reviews
Examples of these can be found in High Growth Enterprise Coach Fundamental Skills: Goal Setting.
